Using Google Analytics, I studied my blog’s visitor statistics to determine whether I’ve had visitors from the entire Union. Nary a surfer from Alaska. And it’s only the 47th least populous state in the good ol’ US of A. Still got hits from Wyoming, Vermont and the Dakotas. So, what’s wrong with Alaska?
After watching Palin, they aren’t capable of coherent thought.Brian
Seeing as Alaska is so close to Russia, maybe I should count those hits. All two of them. God bless Moscow and St. Petersburg.
Alaska’s close to Russia, but it’s nowhere near Moscow or St. Petersburg.
But those are the only two cities in Russia from which I’ve received hits. Don’t really care how far they are away from Alaska. I’m countin’ them as Alaska hits anyway! Woo-hoo! 😉
I’m pretty much with Brian (Anonymous) on this one.
I have hits from Alaska only because I have a brother-in-law who lives there. How desperate are you, Mike? (You must be pretty desperate if you’re counting Moscow and St. Petersburg as “almosts”.) I suppose I could ask him to drop by. But would that be cheating?
Just make sure it’s a legitimate referral. 😉
PS – I’m desperate.
Sending some Alaskans your way! 😀
It’s best when making judgments about people groups to believe the best and not judging a group due to one representative. For example, the comment about Alaskans and coherent thought regarding Palin. Have you seen the current President speak. Similar if not more creative things could be said about people that support him and that party. As for why Alaskans haven’t made it to this blog, who knows, they don’t know about it would be my guess. Just because I live here I can’t say why it hasn’t been a topic that people are interested in. I’m interested in the discussion, but choose to spend my time in other ways than reading and commenting on blogs.
Thank you, Valerie! =)
Scott,
I believe Brian’s comments were meant to be taken light-heartedly. I certainly took them that way, and I voted for the McCain/Palin ticket. That being said, I’d love to hear from you some of the “more creative things could be said” about me and the party I support. 😉
I understand the light-hearted nature of the the posts regarding Alaska and the people that live here. I just hope to caution people when making statements about groups of people based on one public person. As for the GOP I would guess there are folks that embrace all that Bush has done and others that support the party but struggle with his leadership which in my opinion has been questionable on many important topics/events. One of the significant barriers McCain had to overcome was the general feeling toward the current administration and standing alone from it. Which was difficult for the campaign. As for the creative things the GOP can be identified as, I’ll let the people that enjoy name calling and other less respectful means of proving their point identify them as we often hear such things from Letterman/Leno and SNL type media/entertainment outlets. Being a former-Republican I have very clear reasons to no longer support the party both on the State and Federal levels (which I don’t have time to go into entirely). However I have no problem supporting a candidate that demonstrates the best interest of their constituents in an ethical manor regardless of party. For the most part Palin has done a great job as Governor even though I didn’t vote for her. I believe intelligent thought and discussion are essential to how our country runs and the purpose for our system especially when parties disagree or see things from a different perspective. Some of my closest friends and I totally disagree on many topics but enjoy the discussion as it helps to solidify our beliefs when we can articulate them and discuss them. I won’t be making any further posts, as I just don’t have time to engage on the level that could be interesting/productive to the discussion. SH
There is nothing wrong with Alaska! Usually we’re to busy wrestlin’ th’ grizz, and shovelin’ snow to be yakin’ on these blog thingies.
Wait, what was the subject again?
OK. I’ve fulfilled my duties as a brother-in-law. Can I go back outside now?
BTW, If you really want to see what Alaska is all about go here:

Great pictures David!
I appreciate that some realize my comment on Alaskans and coherent thought was tongue in cheek. I live in Texas. Need say more.
Brian
Hey you can now count in Alaska :D….for real!
Many thanks to all who helped Alaska join the rest of the Union in visiting The Creation of an Evolutionist!
The “worldwide” flood is starting! Another Alaska surfer who found your Creation / Evolution blog.
I’m even from the “small village” of Wasilla, Alaska! 🙂
Wasilla, eh? This is indeed an honor, SJ! Now, if you can convince the good Governor (“Sarah,” as y’all call her) to visit, I’ll really be tickled. =)
I have some relatives in Wasilla, but I doubt they’d be interested in this particular blog. In fact, I believe they’d hate it!
Relatives in Wasilla, who wouldn't agree with you, 'eh? I get the feeling we might be in the minority in these parts…!
Have you read Darrel Falk's 2004 book "Coming to Peace with Science…"? Fascinating read. It was recommended to me by a friend when I first began considering the implications of science & Genesis. I didn't see it mentioned on any of your blogs, but from what I've read here I think you'll appreciate it very much.
SJ,
I haven’t read Falk’s book yet, but I certainly aim to. Of course, it’s on an ever-increasingly long list of new TE/EC books that have been published in the last 5 years.
I may have it listed in my Amazon store. If not, I’ll correct that oversight. =)
I am from Haines, AK but am in Montana at the moment Does that count as a hit from Alaska???
